Sales Engineer Power Electronics

The function is with focus on Smart Grid & Measurements related to Automotive Chargers and reports to the General Manager of LEM Europe. It requires efficient and effective customer and sales channels management and support to contribute significantly to customer satisfaction in the Smart Grid & Charger market and thus to the achievement of company and sales targets. The incumbent shall evolve into a full-fledged Sales engineer role responsible for the Smart Grid (SMG) & Charger business once he acquired sufficient new business in this area.

Main tasks
  • Qualified, technical and application oriented advice to existing SMG & Charger customers, in cooperation with the sales people involved
  • Handling of the technical and commercial customer requests concerning LEM’s SMG & Charger applications
  • Quotations and follow-up: within the frame discounting policies, independently establish prices in line with the market and prepare special quotations under Regional Sales Manager responsibilities
  • Contract Review: scrutiny of all incoming orders as to adherence to all given general conditions
  • Dynamic Rolling Forecast: on-going introduction of all available information relative to customer related products and quantities into the dynamic rolling forecast, for optimal production planning of the factories
  • Data Maintenance in CRM and ERP
  • Support of marketing: recording of competition pricing, identification of new market and customer potentials
  • Contribution to budget and strategic planning and its deployment (budget, Business Plan, action list….), preparation of monthly and quarterly reports to the sales management
  • Sales responsibility for SMG & Charger customers developed by him/her
  • Identification and approach of potential new SMG & Charger customers for LEM, presentation of LEM products and expertise, generate new business


  • Engineering degree in electronics or electrical engineering, at ease in leading technical discussions and sharing expertise with a sales perspective
  • Passionate about Smartgrid, Charger and Power electronics
  • Very strong interest and focus on sales skills
  • Experience in similar position of at least 5 years
  • Professional experience in R&D or application engineering
  • Excellent communication/negotiation skills and customer orientation
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English and German. French in addition would be a plus
  • High development potential, can-do attitude, agile, dynamic, proactive and result-oriented team player
  • Excellent knowledge of MS-Office tools, Lotus and ERP
